As I've been a bit quiet and unmotivated recently I thought I'd delve back to last year and the running of an empty ballast train during the mid-winter months heading back to Conara Junction after ballasting work in the Midlands of Tasmania. A pair of DQ Class locos can be seen passing through Ross and an unusual opportunity to photograph here due to the out of course running of the train.

Nella giornata dei deviati del Brennero sui Tauri le soddisfazioni maggiori sono arrivate dai treni ordinari, assegnati tutti a locomotive dalle livree particolari, come nel caso di questo 41855 al gancio della Vectron commemorativa del 150° della linea del Brennero, che tra spinte in coda, rientri isolati e treni da titolare, ha incrociato i nostri obiettivi per ben 4 volte

El cuarto más grande del castillo es la "Sala de los cantores". Está localiza en el cuarto nivel de la parte oriental del palacio, sobre la recámara del rey. La sala está inspirada en la "Sala de los cantores" y el "Salón de baile" del castillo de Wartburg y era el proyecto favorito del rey para su castillo. La sala rectangular está adornada con referencias a Lohengrin y la leyenda de Parzival. La "Sala de trono" está inspirada en la iglesia de Todos los Santos de la Residencia de Múnich. Sobre estrado del trono hay murales de los doce apóstoles y de los seis reyes canonizados.

Hier war die frische 193 357 "Das ist grün" von DB Cargo mit einem KLV nach München unterwegs. In Kürze wird der Ort Obereichstätt im Altmühltal passiert. Bei Temperaturen nahe 30 Grad und Sonne pur, war die Tagestour im Altmühltal ein gelungener Sommerabschluss.

Here was the fresh 193 357 "That's green" from DB Cargo with a KLV to Munich on the rails. The village of Obereichstätt in the Altmühltal will soon be passed. At temperatures near 30 degrees and pure sun, the day trip in the Altmühltal was a successful summer end.

Hier was de frisse 193 357 "That's green" van DB Cargo met een KLV naar München op de rails. Het dorp Obereichstätt in het Altmühltal zal spoedig worden gepasseerd. Bij temperaturen rond de 30 graden en pure zon was de dagtocht in het Altmühltal een geslaagd einde van de zomer.

It's not the first time to see a locomotive of some of the private railway operators to serve a passenger train. In Bulgaria the State railway operator is still the only one certified to carry passenger trains. But as always, we, the railway fans want something different. So, there is a way to see a locomotive of a private railway operator to serve a passenger train. Of course, that's not a regular train, but an attraction train of the PTG rail tours. BDZ (The State operator) hire the locomotive from PIMK Rail to satisfy the desires of these railfans from England. On Friday 5th of October the ex-BDZ loco, 07 077, now owned by PIMK Rail hauled their train to Kardzhali and Podkova. This line is offering a wonderful views in the eastern part of the Rhodopes. On the photo the train is passing on a nice bridge near Varbitsa river, between the stations of Podkova and Momchilgrad.
On New Year Eve 2016, OBB Taurus loco 1216 141 was photographed working a mixed freight train in Faak Am See on New Years Eve 31/12/16.

The North Norfolkman is the first train to run from the Preserved North Norfolk Railway onto the National Rail Network, operating a return service to Cromer, from Sheringham and back to Sheringham, via Holt.
Two services operated on this day, 10 08 2016, with more services scheduled to run in September, which, all being well may lead to regular running next year.
The movement of RHTT wagons and locos for the forthcoming leaf fall season provided an impressive sight with everything immaculately clean - they won't stay like that for long once they swing into action. The shadow from a large road crane on the new Westfield site was an unwelcome addition!
The Super 7 duo of OC 4095 and 4096 lead the Zanesville - Cambridge turn out of the often photographed sweeping curve near Norwich, OH. It's still early, but the Fall colors have started to show up in Eastern Ohio.

Here we see the new 386201 loco in action working IC1003 from Praque to Kosice captured during an intermittent spell of sunshine and blue sky.
For info, the RJ class 386s did not have number's on the front at the time this was taken. You might need to take a side shot of the locomotive to avoid missing the fleet number.
OBB locomotive 1144 125 was captured approaching Gerling im Pinzgau on the morning of the 9/2/19 with IC515 from Innsbruck to Graz via Saalfelden.
Almost like a steam loco...these venerable old road stagers give an impression of almost being alive.
Taken with my Sony RX100 because it's all I had with me, slightly compromised by the short focal length available. This is an ECS working back to Carnforth. Was lucky that the sun was out whilst the train passed. It's surprising how dirty this loco is

EN: Today, in the world full of DMU and EMU, it seems totally unusual to shunt direct passenger cars from one train to another. In Niebüll, at the northern end of Germany, there are still direct cars in use! Intercities from southern Germany to Westerland leave two or more wagons in Niebüll. A DMU takes over these wagons for a ride on the branch line to Dagebüll. In 2005 there was still a loco and two wagons of the branch operator NEG that overtook two cars from IC 2500. The loco pushed the cars out of Niebüll DB station and pulled them into Niebüll NEG station (left hand side of the signalbox) and further to Dagebüll, where the passengers have direct ferry connections to several islands.

DE: Heute, in einer Welt der Triebwagen, erscheinen Kurswagen vollkommen ungewöhnlich. Es gibt sie aber noch! In Niebüll, ganz im Norden unseres Landes, lassen die ICs nach Westerland zwei oder mehr Wagen stehen, die dann vom NEG VT zur Fahrt nach Dagebüll übernommen werden. 2005 hatte die NEG noch Lok und Wagen im Einsatz. Die DL2 schiebt mit ihren eigenen Personenwagen zwei Kurswagen aus IC 2500 nordwärts aus dem Bahnhof Niebüll, um diese dann in den links vom Stellwerk gelegenen NEG Bahnhof und weiter nach Dagebüll zu ziehen. In dagebüll besteht Anschluss an die Fähren zu den nordfriesischen Inseln und Halligen.
